Apulian ‘masserie’ were born to control agricultural land. The 'masse' or 'masserizie', from which they take their name, have consistently been associated with the farm-based community, a self-sufficient peasant community that has progressed over time without losing its genuineness.
The essence of Masseria San Lorenzo Resort is combining all these paradigms. This splendid 19th-century mansion was once a thriving hub for oil harvesting and production in Puglia's Plain of Monumental Olive Trees - Fasano. The community of farmers who once lived here farmed the land under the guidance of the ‘massaro’, cultivating olives, vegetables, fruit, and meat and even harvesting snow into large cisterns carved right beneath the main building of the Masseria.
Today, Masseria San Lorenzo is a resort that recounts the past with a contemporary twist. You will be welcomed by an authentic and familiar atmosphere, similar to the life of the locals who have kept it throughout history, creating a feeling of well-being and interaction with Nature.
Its simple yet elegant design features white lime walls, historic vaulted ceilings, traditional 'chianche' stone pavements, and clementine floors. The second floor boasts aristocratic features, including ancient frescoes, while the ground floor is now dedicated to hospitality and conviviality.
